A digital artwork I created on my iPad, based on a photo of me lying sideways, wearing shorts and a shirt.
I transformed the photo into a simple yet expressive illustration. On top, I added colorful, childlike doodle-style letters that say:
“I was once very close to getting out of here.”
This piece is deeply emotional it talks about that feeling of being so close to escaping something but still stuck. Like being caught between “wanting” and “being able.” The bright, happy letters with faces contrast with the heaviness, trying to hold onto joy.
A bold pink outline frames the whole composition, like a protective barrier around that part of yourself that hasn’t left yet.
Is a moment of stillness before freedom, a journey through emotion.
